This policy explains how User information is handled on the website and games (including Typing Battle and Stella Orbs; collectively, the "Service") provided by UAJ Studio (the "Operator") at https://uaj-studio.com/. Unless otherwise noted, the items below apply to the Service as a whole. Items that apply only to Typing Battle or Stella Orbs are labeled as such.
Login to the Service uses an account shared across the Service, and you can log in from any page. You can choose to log in with a Google account or with an email address (a verification code sent by email, or a passkey). Each login method creates a separate account. When you log in, the records of the services available now and those added in the future can be stored and viewed together under the same account (My Page: /account). Typing Battle can be played as a guest without logging in, except for some features such as Ranked Match. Logging in is required to play the stages of Stella Orbs.
1. Information We Collect
Typing Battle guest play: connection information held temporarily only during a match (it does not include information that identifies an individual)
When logged in (common to the Service): if you log in with a Google account, the basic profile information provided by Google, such as your name and email address. If you register with an email address, the email address you registered. If you register a passkey, the passkey's public key and registration information (registration date and time, the name of the device or password manager, and the like) are stored on the authentication service. Information such as your fingerprint or face, and the private key stored inside your device, are never transmitted, and neither the Operator nor the authentication service obtains them. In every case, your email address is not shown on screen and is not made public to other Users
Date of last use (when logged in): the last date on which you logged in and used the Service (in units of a date)
Typing Battle, when logged in: match record and rating
Detailed per-match typing data for logged-in Typing Battle Users: match result, time taken, whether each key you typed was right or wrong, reaction times, and the like (used to calculate the statistics and graphs that you can view on the "Match History" page)
Typing Battle nickname (display name): for guests, the name entered in the lobby input field (up to 20 characters; a random name is used if left blank). When you log in, the name of your Google account is set as the initial value the first time ("Player" if it cannot be obtained or if you registered with an email address), and you can change it at any time on the lobby screen (up to 20 characters). Your email address is never used as a nickname. Your nickname is also shown to your opponents
Content submitted through the feedback form: the type (bug report, cheating report, or request), the content, a nickname (optional; recorded as "Guest" if left blank; while you are logged in, your current nickname is pre-filled and you can change or delete it before sending), contact information (optional), and the date and time of submission. If you submit while logged in, your user identifier (user ID) is also recorded. If you select "cheating report" while logged in and specify a related match, the ID of that match and your opponent's nickname are also recorded
Site access statistics: we record the daily number of page loads and visits (per service), and the following items about the first page opened in a browser tab, only as daily totals. The type of referring site (the names of major search sites and social networks, and "Other" for the rest; we do not keep the domain, the detailed URL of the page, or search terms; "Direct" if the page was opened directly), an approximation of country or region (estimated from the browser's time zone; where the delivery network (CloudFront) attaches country information to the connection, that is used instead; in both cases only down to the level of country or region), the type of device (smartphone/tablet or computer), the first page opened (only the name of the page on this site), and the service (Typing Battle, Stella Orbs, or other pages). We do not keep records of individual visitors' browsing, IP addresses, or detailed browser information, and these totals contain no information that identifies an individual. Automated access, such as by search engine robots, is not counted
Stella Orbs (guests): the game runs inside your browser, and while you are not logged in, the content of the game (progress, operations, and so on) is not sent to the server, and the Operator does not obtain a record of your play
Stella Orbs (when logged in): the following information is stored linked to your account. Player level and experience points; stage progress (number of clears, fewest turns, and the date and time of first clear); owned characters with their levels and locks; items (Star Core, coins, leveling materials, items that restore stamina, and the like); stamina; party setups and presets; the size of the character box; collection (encyclopedia) registrations; gacha results (a history of the most recent 20 pulls, and the counts by pull method and rarity; the gacha is drawn with Star Core or tickets; Star Core comes in two kinds: free Star Core, which can be obtained in the game, and paid Star Core, which may be sold (Terms of Service, Article 12); for information about purchases, see the item "Stella Orbs shop" below); battle record (the number of wins, the number of formations completed, the greatest chain, and the like); records of the login bonus, daily missions, and the Daily Challenge; the number of continues paid for; records of gifts claimed; the creation date and time; and an identifier for the session in progress and its time, used to limit play to one screen at a time. The results of battles and the Daily Challenge are verified by replaying the record of your in-play operations on the server. In addition, so that you can resume a battle from another device, part of the record of your operations during battle is temporarily stored on the server (it is deleted automatically after one day). If you logged in and played the old version (Classic mode), aggregate values such as the number of plays, totals, and best scores are also stored
Stella Orbs Allies (friends; when logged in): the following are stored linked to your account. Ally relationships (Allies, requests you sent and received with their dates and times, and players you have blocked), Ally points, greeting records (whom you greeted that day, and greetings you received), and your selection of a favorite character. To count how often you search for or send requests to Allies, the number of such actions per short period is recorded temporarily (deleted automatically after about 20 minutes)
Stella Orbs shop (purchase of paid Star Core; if provided): the following are stored linked to your account. Your age category (under 16, 16 to 19, or 20 and over; you are asked to select it each time you open the shop), a history of the categories you selected with their dates and times (the most recent 50), the total amount purchased that month, records of orders and purchases (product, amount, quantity, order and payment dates and times, the payment processor's transaction ID, and cancellation records), and your paid Star Core balance. To count how often orders are created and age categories are selected, the number of such actions per short period is recorded temporarily (deleted automatically after about 20 minutes). Payment information such as credit card numbers is handled by the payment processor, and the Operator does not obtain it
Notification emails and the Terms of Service (when logged in): whether you chose to receive notification emails (announcements of new games, events, and the like), the date and time of that choice and the version of the wording shown when you chose; the date and time you asked to stop delivery; records of emails that could not be delivered (for example, the address does not exist) and of reports as spam; and the version of the Terms of Service you reviewed and agreed to, with the date and time. We do not record whether you opened an email or clicked a link in it
My Page (nickname shared across the site): when you log in, the name of your Google account is set as the initial value the first time ("Player" if it cannot be obtained or if you registered with an email address), and you can change it on My Page or in the Typing Battle lobby (up to 20 characters). In Typing Battle, this name is also shown to your opponents
Game progress for games played while logged in: for features that require login, game progress, owned items, and the values needed for play (such as the amount of stamina that recovers) are stored linked to your account. In addition, a record of your in-play operations may be temporarily sent to the server so that the result can be verified, but it is not kept after verification
Browsing information for access analytics (Google Analytics): the viewing status of pages (the pages viewed, the type of device and browser, the approximate region, and the like). See "3. Disclosure to Third Parties and Advertising" for details
Cookies: third parties such as Google, i-mobile Co., Ltd. (i-mobile), and its partner companies may use cookies and similar technologies for advertising (Google AdSense, i-mobile) and access analytics (Google Analytics). For access from the EEA (European Economic Area), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we do not use analytics or advertising cookies and similar technologies until you agree in the consent banner on this site
Settings stored in your browser: see "4. Consent Banner and Storage on Your Device" for details
2. Purposes of Use
Providing the Typing Battle match and matchmaking features
Storing and displaying the match records, rankings, and personal typing statistics of logged-in Typing Battle Users
Displaying the records of each service of logged-in Users (including Stella Orbs scores and the like) on My Page, and managing the login and nickname shared across the Service
Email address: used for login and identity verification (sending verification codes at registration and login), for sending important notices related to the operation of the Service, such as revisions to the Terms of Service and the deletion of inactive accounts, and for sending notification emails to those who have agreed to receive them. You can stop notification emails at any time from My Page or the link in the email. We do not provide your email address to third parties or use it for other companies' advertising
Date of last use: determining and giving notice of the deletion of inactive accounts (Terms of Service, Article 14)
Confirming agreement to the Terms of Service (after a revision that requires agreement, some features may be suspended until you agree)
Storing game progress and owned items for games played while logged in, and verifying the correctness of results (excluding unfair results)
Providing the Stella Orbs Ally features (Ally list, requests, greetings, and Ally points) and displaying public profiles
Providing the Stella Orbs shop (checking the purchase limit for each age category, granting and canceling paid Star Core, storing purchase records, complying with laws and regulations such as the Payment Services Act and tax laws, and responding to inquiries)
Reviewing and responding to feedback
Detecting and preventing unfair input in Typing Battle (operation at speeds that would not normally be possible, and the like)
Understanding and improving the operation of the Service: statistics such as totals of visits, referrers, and device types, the number of registered users, the number of players, the share of players who keep playing, progress through stages, and checks that gacha results match the configured probabilities (compiled in an admin screen that only the Operator can view)
Responding to inquiries and investigating cheating: the Operator may check each account's nickname, registration date, login method, and play records in the admin screen. Email addresses are normally displayed partly masked, and if the Operator displays one in full, a record of that (the date and time of display, the administrator who displayed it, and the target account) is kept
Delivering advertising (including non-personalized ads and personalized ads)
3. Disclosure to Third Parties and Advertising
Information shown to other Users (Stella Orbs public profile): If you play Stella Orbs while logged in, the following information is shown to other Users who find you by entering your nickname, to your Allies, and, if you appear in the weekly ranking, to other Users who view the ranking (if you choose in the settings to hide everything except your nickname, information other than your nickname is shown only to your Allies): nickname; favorite character (or the party leader if none is selected) with its ★ and level; player level; the day you last played ("Today," "◯ days ago," and the like); battle record (greatest damage in one turn, greatest chain, number of all clears, and number of wins); story progress; number of Expert dungeons cleared; and number of collection registrations. Your email address, user ID, items, and detailed play records are not shown. Others can find you only by an exact match of your nickname, and players you have blocked can no longer find you. Ally requests, approvals, and greetings are shown to the other party (we do not notify the other party if you remove an Ally, block someone, or decline a request).
The Service uses Google AdSense as an advertising delivery provider. Third-party ad providers, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to the Service or other sites. You can disable the cookies Google uses for ad delivery in Ads Settings.
The Service also uses the advertising delivery service "i-mobile" (i-mobile Ad Network) of i-mobile Co., Ltd. as an advertising delivery provider (ads are displayed on some pages). i-mobile delivers ads using cookies and similar technologies. You can disable (opt out of) the collection of cookie information on i-mobile's opt-out page. For how i-mobile handles information, see the Privacy Policy of i-mobile Co., Ltd..
To deliver ads, i-mobile links anonymous user information across multiple sites and apps using the common ID "IM-UID" of Intimate Merger, Inc. IM-UID does not contain information that directly identifies an individual, but it is used in association with behavioral data such as browsing history. For details, see the Privacy Policy of Intimate Merger, Inc.. You can stop that company's use of this data (opt out) through the company's opt-out guide. Ads from Google's ad inventory may also be delivered through i-mobile (Google's policies). A list of the destinations to which i-mobile sends information is published in i-mobile's Privacy Policy mentioned above.
To understand and improve how the Service is used, the Service uses "Google Analytics," an access analytics tool of Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect data such as the viewing status of pages. This data is collected anonymously and does not identify individuals. The collected data is managed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. Collection by Google Analytics can be disabled with a browser add-on (the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on).
Some pages use Google Fonts (web fonts provided by Google) to display text. When the fonts are loaded, your browser connects to Google's servers, and information such as your IP address is sent to Google. For details, see Google Fonts privacy information.
For access from the EEA (European Economic Area), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, neither analytics (Google Analytics) nor advertising (i-mobile, Google AdSense) is loaded until you agree in the consent banner on this site. For access from regions other than those above, the consent banner is not displayed.
4. Consent Banner and Storage on Your Device
The display of the consent banner above and the storage of your choice are handled by this site. Your choice is stored for 12 months in your browser's localStorage (key: uajConsent) and in a cookie (name: uaj_consent). Even if you do not consent in the consent banner, you can still use the Service, including the Typing Battle match features and Stella Orbs.
In addition to the above, the Service stores the following information in your browser (localStorage / sessionStorage). This information is stored in your own browser and is separate from cookies.
Typing Battle:
Display language setting (localStorage key: typingBattleLanguage)
What you entered in the lobby nickname field
Information for keeping you logged in (localStorage key: tb_auth. It is shared with other pages for the duration of your login. It includes a renewal value, valid for up to 30 days, for extending your login automatically. It is deleted when you log out, and the renewal value is invalidated). Values used temporarily during the login process: a verification value (sessionStorage key: tb_pkce_verifier), the path of the page you were viewing, for returning to it after login (sessionStorage key: tb_return_to), and the authentication return URL (sessionStorage key: tb_redirect_uri). These are deleted when login or logout is complete
A record that you closed a notice or an ad-blocker prompt
A flag showing whether the passkey registration prompt has been displayed (localStorage key: tb_passkey_prompted. It is used so the prompt is shown only once on this device)
A short notice shown once on the next page (sessionStorage key: tb_flash. For example, "Your account has been deleted" after deleting an account. It is deleted once displayed)
Stella Orbs (while you are not logged in, this information is not sent outside your browser. For records while logged in, see "1. Information We Collect"):
Best score (localStorage key: hexdrop.best)
Settings (volume, color vision support, reduced effects) (localStorage key: stellaOrbs.settings)
The number of the background image displayed last (sessionStorage key: hexdrop.bg. It disappears when you close the browser tab)
Common to the site:
A flag showing whether the first page in this tab has been counted for access statistics (sessionStorage key: uaj.visit.v1. It disappears when you close the browser tab)
Result of checking whether the access is from the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland (country code; localStorage key: uajGeo)
Games played while logged in (common):
Selections such as party setups, and a copy for displaying progress (the official record is stored on your account)
A temporary record of play operations awaiting verification of the result (deleted once verification on the server is complete)
A temporary record of in-play operations for resuming interrupted play from where you left off (when that play ends, only a mark showing that it has ended remains)
If you delete your browser data, this information is also erased.
5. Data Retention Period
Connection information for Typing Battle guest play: deleted automatically up to about 6 hours after the match ends
Logged-in Users' nicknames, Typing Battle match records, ratings, match history, and typing statistics, Stella Orbs records, and game progress for games played while logged in: stored for as long as the account exists. An account that has not been used for two years since the last date it was logged in to and used is deleted after prior notice by email (except where unused paid Star Core remains; Terms of Service, Article 14). What deletion involves is the same as "Deleting your account (withdrawal)" below
Passkey registration information: while the account exists (if you delete a passkey, until you delete it)
Date of last use: while the account exists
Deleting your account (withdrawal): you can delete your account at any time from "Delete account" on My Page. When you do, your login account, nickname, records, progress and items for each service, match history, public profile, Ally relationships (you are also removed from the other party's Ally list and requests), and notification email registration are deleted immediately and cannot be restored (an email address recorded as an address to which delivery failed, or from which a request to stop delivery was received, remains only as a record to prevent mistaken sending). If you register again with the same Google account or the same email address, it is treated as a new account
Records of notification email choices and agreement to the Terms of Service: stored for as long as the account exists (what happens when an account is deleted is as described above)
Content submitted through the feedback form: stored for as long as the Operator deems necessary, with no automatic deletion. If you delete your account, the user ID, nickname, and contact information are removed and only the content is kept
Records of purchases of paid items (if provided): stored for the period required by laws and regulations (tax, payment services, and the like). If you delete your account, the information that links the records to you is removed before they are kept
Counts of accounts created per connection source (IP address) when creating a new game account (to prevent automated mass creation of accounts in a short time): the IP address itself is not stored; only a value converted into a form that is difficult to reverse, and a count, are kept and deleted automatically after about 20 minutes
Records of input detected as unfair in Typing Battle: deleted automatically after 30 days
Site access statistics (daily page loads and visits, and totals by referrer, approximate country or region, device type, and first page; figures that do not identify individuals): retained with no set retention period
Temporary record of operations for resuming a Stella Orbs battle: deleted automatically after one day
Records of displaying an email address in the admin screen: stored for as long as the Operator deems necessary
Records of communication with the server (date and time, the feature used, the result, and processing time; they do not include IP addresses or what you entered): stored for 30 days for investigating failures and cheating
Stella Orbs information in your browser: it is not stored on the Operator's side and is kept only while it remains in your browser (until you delete your browser data). Stella Orbs results recorded while logged in are stored for as long as the account exists, as described above
6. Transmission to External Parties
In the Service, User information is sent from your browser to the following external companies (this is a disclosure under the Telecommunications Business Act). In every case, the transmission is made by your browser connecting directly to the external company's servers, and it does not pass through the Operator's servers.
